Lets make a countdown to Christmas wall hanging...OR use these cute creations for ornaments on your family Christmas tree or tie on packages.
One of my favorite Christmas traditions growing up was putting a different tiny felt ornament on a wall hanging of a tree. This "advent calender" or "countdown to Christmas" was similar to the one in the picture. Each day my sister and I took turns placing the next one on the tree. My kids also liked doing this.
I have been trying to get one made for over a year and I know many of you would love one too so...let's do one together!
Here's how this will work:
Each day from Nov 5- Nov 29 we will each make one item for our calendar...total of 25 projects. Most days will have 2 different projects to choose from. Some super talented designers have made projects just for this event. I hope you will take time to visit their pages and thank them.
All items are quick and easy. Why not make two of each and use them for gifts to give family members at Thanksgiving?
DAY 1: snowman head (we will do full snowmen later)
choose from one of these patterns:

Click here for PATTERN This cute snowman is a fun pattern I found by "Crochet Spot". He is actually a full snowman made from fingering yarn...but I made just the head with a size H hook and ww yarn and it ended up 2.5". |
Important things to know:
Please note: you will need to also make or purchase an advent calendar. We are only making the items to hang on the calendar. You can find these in almost any store similar to walmart or online. You could also hang these items on a mini tree.
I will be posting links to ones you can make as well.
If you are going to use these on a wall hanging with pockets please make all of your items a similar size.
