While making it, the testers and I talked about all of the fun things the bobbles could be turned into, including pumpkins. Here is how I turned the pumpkin hat into a matching treat bag. The bobbles make cute sports balls too! ...and wouldn't Snappy smiles be fun?
Using the Beach Comber pattern, follow the pumpkin variation, making the top medium brown and the bottom section and ribbing orange. The sample was made using Red Heart Cafe and Carrot. Pumpkins are Red Heart Pumpkin with Tea Leaf drawstring. |
With matching yarn and yarn needle, weave in and out of last round of hat. Pull as snug as possible, and then tie to secure. |
With black embroidery floss and needle, stitch little faces on the bobbles. Cute as a hat and neckwarmer too! |
